Parents & Community

John Araujo began his volunteering at Del Mar High School back in 1998 when his oldest daughter was a cheerleader at Del Mar High School. John was the cheer team "Dad" driving students to football and basketball games and making sure the necessary equipment arrived at the games. John and his son Matt, then 8 years old, sold snow cones in the stands as a fundraiser for the spirit squad. Matt will graduate from Del Mar in June.

For the past five years, John as volunteered his services as the "voice of the Dons" at our home football games as well as the boys and girls basketball games. This past year, John has been president of the Dons' Sports Association, our parent sports boosters. He will continue as president and as the announcer even though he will no longer have students at Del Mar High School.

Whether it be announcing, cooking hamburgers, working the chain gang, or just being there to help, John Araujo has been there to support our school. Del Mar High School has been fortunate to have John as a parent volunteer.
